Match the palm to the route
California-to-Florida transport is not just mileage. Palm dimensions, crown width, root-ball size, trailer layout, legal limits, route constraints and unloading sequence all affect what can be shipped safely.
Plan the receiving operation early
The Florida site needs truck access, staging space, equipment, excavated holes or a clear installation sequence and an irrigation plan. A mature palm should not arrive before the site can receive it.
Account for humidity and rainfall
Florida conditions change the establishment conversation. Rain does not guarantee that the root ball is properly watered, and heavy soils or perched water can cause decline if drainage is ignored.
Keep documentation tied to the load
Project teams should keep current photos, sizes, load sequence, delivery contacts and arrival instructions together. The goal is continuity from selected palm to installed palm.
